Moncler’s Pupazzo toy PHOTO COURTESY OF BRANDS
Famous for its beautifully made skiwear, Italian luxury brand Moncler is celebrating a brand-new flagship in Beverly Hills. The location spans two levels and combines L.A.’s vibrancy with the brand’s mountain spirit. A central helical-shaped staircase, reminiscent of a ribbon, connects both floors, while mirrored surfaces, black metal paired with pinewood, ivory Italian travertine and gray Ceppo di Gré stone give the space a contemporary look and feel. Downstairs houses a generous selection of coveted items from Moncler Collection, Moncler Grenoble and Moncler Genius, while the second floor is reserved for personal shopping experiences–with private appointments and an outdoor rooftop dedicated to special in-store events. Look out for collaborative pieces in-store by L.A.-based psychedelic pop artist and designer Steven Harrington, who worked with the brand on distinctive limited-edition designs for Pupazzo, Moncler’s art toy. Ex Nihilo Amber Sky fragrance PHOTO COURTESY OF BRANDS
After major success with its collections at Saks Beverly Hills, Scent Bar and The Webster, it was only a matter of time before Ex Nihilo landed a boutique in Los Angeles. The new location—designed by French architect Morgane Couplan—will showcase the Parisian fragrance brand’s exquisite scents, including The Hedonist, debuting this fall. “[Ex Nihilo] means ‘made from scratch.’ It was a way for us to convey how we wanted to take the market by storm with unconventional ideas and setting no boundaries for ourselves on the way,” shares co-founder Benoît Verdier. “We draw inspiration from many fields in the artistic community, such as fashion, architecture, design and photography, to propose a fresh version of what the new French avant-garde could be,” he shares. Coming up, look out for an exclusive scent dedicated to the City of Angels. Hollywood, us.ex-nihilo-paris.com

Outerknown founder Kelly Slater PHOTO COURTESY OF BRANDS
Professional surfer Kelly Slater’s sustainable clothing brand Outerknown is expanding its presence in L.A. with a second shop at the Malibu Country Mart. “I wanted the space to be close to home and somewhere that feels like our brand,” says Slater, who believes that sustainability is essential to a business’ long-term success. “This space is in the heart of Malibu and feels like it highlights the Outerknown lifestyle.” The brand has grown exponentially both with products and with its sustainability goals—making a public commitment to go fully circular by 2030. “On the product side, we’ve expanded the men’s collection and introduced women’s as well, which has been super successful,” Slater shares. We’re introducing some new cashmere pieces and expanding our fan-favorite S.E.A. collection to include even more styles of jeans, shirts, pants and jumpsuits.” Going forward, Slater hopes to continue strengthening Outerknown’s commitment to sustainability with the launch of its first resale program, where customers can help keep products in circulation longer.
