On the eve of Hollywood’s biggest night, stars, filmmakers, actors and cultural icons gathered at the Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel for the highly anticipated Charles Finch x Chanel Pre-Oscars Dinner. Now in its 16th year, the exclusive soirée was a dazzling convergence of cinematic royalty and high fashion, reinforcing Chanel’s deep-rooted ties to the world of film.

Upon arrival at a discrete drop-off point, guests took a winding path through the hotel’s verdant gardens, the scent of jasmine in the air. A mariachi band dressed in crisp white suits played under the soft glow of twinkling lights along the way, building energy and excitement for the evening. A-list guests, including Ralph Fiennes—one of the first to arrive—Michael Keaton, Gia Coppola, Willem Dafoe, Olivia Wilde and more enjoyed chatting under the stars while clinking glasses and nibbling on an array of hors d’oeuvres—including pigs in a blanket, a crowd favorite. It was a family affair this year, as Adrien Brody, who arrived with girlfriend Georgina Chapman, had his parents in tow; Judd Apatow came with daughter Maude Apatow; Demi Moore attended with her daughter Scout Willis; and sisters Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning arrived together. Attendees were dressed to the nines, many donning chic Chanel looks. Brand ambassador Lupita Nyong’o stunned in a black silk organza dress from Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2024/25 collection, while Riley Keough, another Chanel ambassador, embodied effortless sophistication in a feather-adorned white cotton tweed coat. Elle Fanning dazzled in an asymmetrical cape A-line dress embroidered with blue sequins from Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection, and Kim Kardashian donned a vintage look from the brand.

Host Finch addressed the attentive crowd, expressing his admiration of this year’s “extraordinary films” before guests moved on to dinner. The merry mood continued inside, where the Polo Lounge’s deep forest green interiors and dark leather booths provided the perfect background for intimate conversations among friends old and new. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez sat with Kardashian, while the Fanning sisters shared a table with Willis and Moore, who stopped by to chat for a portion of the evening. Longtime friends Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire sat together, enjoying the evening’s menu at the iconic restaurant: Caesar salad, steak au Poivre, chicken parmesan, roasted cauliflower steak and mini Marilyn’s ice cream sundaes.

Beyond glamour and star power, the event underscored Chanel’s commitment to cinema. In collaboration with the Academy Museum, the brand will make the museum’s Family Matinees free in March, reinforcing its mission to preserve film history and foster community engagement.
