Founder of Capitol Laura Vinroot Poole and jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth
Brentwood Country Mart has been hit with a massive dose of Southern charm with the arrival of Laura Vinroot Poole’s fashion mecca, Capitol, expanding to the West Coast from Charlotte, N.C. “Sometimes the stars align and an opportunity presents itself that you just can’t refuse,” says Poole. “The Brentwood Country Mart has history and a soul, and let’s be honest, the store curation is the best.” Adding to the excitement, the store has an Irene Neuwirth shop-in-shop with one-of-a-kind fine jewelry designs displayed in custom Wardian cases alongside bespoke curiosities from artist Clare Crespo. A longtime friend, Neuwirth describes opening a store with Poole as “the dreamiest dream come true!” And while the Capitol founder is staying true to her store’s “playful, colorful, feminine and modest” point of view, the Brentwood location weaves California cool in with more casual contemporary options from Rachel Antonoff and Ganni alongside pieces by Dries Van Noten and Valentino. Five brands have been chosen to create a limited-edition fashion capsule collection to celebrate the opening, which includes a flirty pink daisy dress by Gül Hürgel, a cozy “Surf in Brentwood” Cuisse de Grenouille sweatshirt and more.
