Chefs, foodies and a slew of famous faces united at UCLA to raise funds for childhood cancer research.
THE PARTY If L.A. is America’s reigning culinary capital, L.A Love’s Alex’s Lemonade Stand is its landmark event. More than 100 chefs, winemakers and mixologists donated their time and talents to help raise funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, serving up fine food and drinks to the city’s most dedicated food lovers. THE GUESTS With their little ones in tow, couples like Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney, Timothy Olyphant and Alexis Knief, and Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka made the kid-friendly food fest a family affair. Michelle Trachtenberg and Kate Flannery kept cool between sampling bites, and culinary masters like Timothy Hollingsworth, Bruce Kalman and Michael Cimarusti happily posed for pictures while serving up their best dishes.THE HIGHLIGHTS Giada De Laurentiis greeted hungry fans clamoring to sample her crispy chicken meatballs, while Adam Perry Lang’s brisket was the most coveted dish of the day. Jay and Liz Scott paid tribute to their late daughter, Alex, who started Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation when she was just 4 years old, during an emotional speech, and an energetic live auction helped the organization raise a record-breaking $1.5 million to continue funding cancer research initiatives. -Shontel Horne
