Following the debut of its September issue, Angeleno brought its Hispanic Heritage initiative from magazine pages to life.
On newsstands and available online now, The Style Issue highlights individuals who are on a mission to tell stories influenced by various cultural experiences including actor and filmmaker Natalie Morales, singer Kordelya and actor Ivan Hernandez. In particular, the Hispanic Heritage spotlight was foremost inspired by El Tesoro Tequila Master Distiller Carlos Camerena and his sister Jenny Camerena, who serves as master of operations.
“Drinking El Tesoro is like going back in time,” Jenny told Modern Luxury for the September issue story. “There’s nothing more authentic to a Mexican than heritage and honor. El Tesoro is that: pure tradition, pure honor, pure passion.”
Angeleno celebrated that pure tradition, honor and passion on Aug. 16 at Kimpton La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood and toasted to the Heritage honorees.
Gathering on the golden hour-lit rooftop, Angeleno, friends and VIPs enjoyed cocktails and light bites and commemorated the accomplishments and spirit of the Hispanic community. The evening kicked off with a live performance by a Mariachi band, which was later followed by appearances and conversations with Jenny and Hernandez and a set by Kordelya.
