The beloved Belgian brand partnered with the renowned luxury boutique to bring Angelenos its capsule of menswear and womenswear. Distinguished by an original feather design, the collection mirrors the feather motif of Maxfield’s in-store installation, which was imagined by Demeulemeester’s husband and longtime creative partner, Patrick Robyn.
The capsule is exclusively available at Maxfield Los Angeles.
The debut of Ann Demeulemeester x Maxfield marks the label’s first return to the United States since it was taken over by Italian retailer and creative director Claudio Antonioli with the support of Demeulemeester herself. Since taking over in 2020, Antonioli has forged ahead with a vision that encompasses the brand’s history and a motto of “new light, new energy, new era.”
Ann Demeulemeester has earned its reputation as a poetic, purposeful and rebellious fashion label over its 37-year history. As part of the Antwerp Six— an influential group of six avant-garde Belgian fashion designers who broke through in the ‘80s— the brand is well known for its dark glamor aesthetic.
Just look to the Maxfield Los Angeles capsule. Embodying Ann Demeulemeester’s intelligent approach to fashion, while still evoking SoCal cool, the collection is marked by black and white colorways and feather and peace sign graphics. Highlights include the sheer, but relaxed Lieze Knitted Crewneck, the wideleg Michael High Comfort Trouser, the Monique Micro Waistcoat and the Thomas Slouchy Long Jacket.
Maxfield Los Angeles is located at 8825 Melrose Ave 90069.
