Art Ball En Plein Air

| March 30, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY The Ball of Artists, a concluding bash for the Pacific Standard Time Performance and Public Art Festival, was awash in bizarre clusters of performances and installations dreamed up by area artists and constructed in the Greystone Mansion’s rooms and courtyards. THE PLAYERS Matthew Marks, China Chow, Jennifer Tilly, Ed Moses, Carrie Fisher, Jack Bankowsky, Jedediah Caesar, Flora Wiegmann, Kate Costello BEST IN SHOW Artist Eduardo Sarabia took over the famed billiard room, where a continuous photo shoot took place in a jungle mise-en-scène that included a fiberglass zebra. Sarabia had Mexican street photography in mind and guests walked away with printed Polaroids capturing the revelry. In the adjacent bowling alley, two identically dressed cumbia band DJs wearing cowboy hats and sunglasses spun while exhibitionist guests jumped onto the space’s miniscule dance floor. The fuel for all the mayhem: sipping tequila served in Champagne flutes. Photos courtesy of Casa Dragones
