Baby2Baby honors actress Jennifer Garner at its annual soiree.

Altruists, celebrities and L.A.’s social set joined together for the fifth annual Baby2Baby Gala. Held at 3Labs in Culver City, the fete raised $2.9 million in support of the nonprofit’s mission to provide diapers, clothing and basic essentials to underprivileged children and their families.

Prior to sitting down for dinner, partygoers like Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba were welcomed to a buzzy cocktail hour filled with Veuve Clicquot Champagne and passed appetizers. Guests were then led to the main event, which was overflowing with food stations from Los Angeles’ top restaurants, including Petit Trois, Sqirl and République.

Jennifer Garner, who was honored with the Giving Tree Award, said it best in her heartwarming acceptance speech: “Imagine not having the option of making your child comfortable; imagine living in a life of poverty that seems to have no way out. You don’t have to imagine it—follow Baby2Baby’s cause workers back to where they are making donations. Once you see the way our neighbors are living, you can’t unsee it. I promise you that.” ‒Meg McGuire
