Technology and wellness unite at Dr. Barbara Sturm’s first Los Angeles outpost.
Since she first came onto the beauty scene with her pioneering vampire facial and her oft-mentioned MC1 cream—a highly effective customized cream made from a patient’s own blood and hyaluronic acid—Dr. Barbara Sturm’s star has only risen higher. Following successful spas in Düsseldorf, Germany, and New York City, and treating some of the most famous faces in Hollywood, Sturm has expanded westward to bow an L.A. location. “It’s been my dream to deliver the #SturmGlow to Los Angeles,” she says. “The city is a place where new ideas are born, tried and adopted—particularly in beauty, health and wellness. L.A. has also become a spiritual second home to me. I met my husband and got married in Los Angeles and have so many wonderful friends here.”
Located on Almont Drive mere steps from Olivetta and Maxfield, the L.A. boutique and spa is Sturm’s largest outpost yet, with five facial treatment rooms and a large sunlit showroom filled with her sought-after products, including hyaluronic acid, a brand-new scalp serum and more. “What’s really unique to L.A. are our dedicated infrared light rooms which will offer Joovv red light therapy, a noninvasive treatment which delivers concentrated, therapeutic red light to the body,” she explains, noting impressive benefits like diminishing age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and stimulating collagen and elastin production.
But that’s not all for Sturm, who always seems to have something up her sleeve. “We have so many amazing new things planned for the rest of the year,” she says, hinting at additional spa locations and a revved-up website. “And as always, we are continuously looking at new delivery methods for potent ingredients... increasingly tailored products and advanced procedures.
