THE PARTY Joel McHale hosted a star-studded evening inside The Beverly Hilton hotel to honor winners of the 15th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. THE PLAYERS Mary Rose, Madeleine Stowe, Jacqueline Durran, Judianna Makovsky, Eduardo Castro THE HIGHLIGHTS Steve Martin used his trademark dry humor to salute Distinguished Collaborator Award recipient and SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels. “As a young producer,” Martin said, “Lorne came up with a crazy idea about costumes: hiring an expert.” And just days shy of snagging her first Oscar, Anne Hathaway was presented the Lacoste Spotlight Award. Upon receipt of the crystal crocodile trophy, Hathaway thanked Les Misérables costume designer Paco Delgado for choosing pink for her opening scene look. “Somehow with that one color you effectively communicated what took Victor Hugo 50 pages to explain,” the actress said. “That vibrant, unexpected, hopeful and defiant pink revealed to the audience so much about Fantine, which in turn freed me up for what I had to do.” Photos courtesy of Stefanie Keenan, Christopher Polk and Alexandra Wyman/Getty Images Entertainment
