THE PARTY A gathering of talent and filmmakers to celebrate the Institute’s achievements and honor filmmaker Benh Zeitlin and philanthropist George Gund, held at Soho House in West Hollywood THE PLAYERS Lisa Cholodenko, Paula Patton, Rory Kennedy, Fenton Bailey, Amy Redford, Aubrey Plaza, Lake Bell, Robin Thicke THE HIGHLIGHTS Friends old and new joined under the twinkling lanterns of Soho House’s rooftop garden over dinner served family-style to acknowledge the work of Sundance alumni and the evening’s two honorees. Throughout the evening, stirring speeches paid homage to the Institute’s groundbreaking work and its impact on artists. The Kids Are All Right director Lisa Cholodenko acknowledged the organization and was thankful for its role in helping her develop her projects and career. THE ONE-LINER “Thank God for companies like you, who put their money where their mouth is!” said Patton in reference to sponsor Tiffany and Co., as she presented this year’s Grand Jury Prize winner, Beasts of the Southern Wild filmmaker Benh Zeitlin, with an inaugural Vanguard Award designed by the iconic jewelry company.
