Your favorite British luxury fashion house is ready to take over Los Angeles.
On Feb. 10, Burberry introduced its Rodeo Drive Takeover at its flagship store for an immersive Spring/Summer 2022 experience.
The takeover, lasting until March 7, is rooted in chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci’s ‘Animal Instinct’ collection.
The store is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays noon to 6 p.m. It is located at 301 N Rodeo Dr.
The collection draws upon the idea of the ability to move between limitless possibilities of fantasy and reality. It celebrates the freedom of creative imagination and displays unique, unexpected arrangements in a variety of ways.
The funky outer view of the store is covered by a camouflaged bright pink, white and black abstract pattern to represent the vibrant, curved designs that exist within the womenswear and menswear collections.
On the interior, mirrored speakers line the staircase with touches of sculptural topography throughout the store. In the penthouse, you can take a deep look into Tisci’s vision he created on a floor-to-ceiling screen in an intimate viewing room with surround-sound audio.
In addition, there’s an Instagram filter with vivid, camouflaged prints to further immerse the customers and put life into the flagship storefront.
The collection includes the renowned Burberry trench coat reconstructed with volumized prominent silhouettes. The dresses and shirts contain geometric and abstract patterns, while elegant gowns and mini-dresses are embellished with hints of fringes and frills.
The menswear incorporates trench coats, t-shirts and shirts that take a leap toward originality, sensuality and spontaneity. The coats, in non-conforming sillouttes, are re-cut with raglan or cap sleeves and sleeveless silhouettes. ‘Universal Passport,’ the collection title that ensures the theme of connectivity and exploration and abstract camouflaged prints with regards for the outdoors, are placed on mesh T-shirts and shirts.
The Rhombi, an over the shoulder oval-shaped bag and a transformation of the trademarked Olympia bag with a crescent curve and circular strap, is included in the collection.
Backpack and crossbody arrangements of the men’s embroidered check leather bag adorned with the Thomas Burberry Monogram are available as well.
