Camilla Freeman-Topper of hip fashion label CAMILLA AND MARC visited L.A. a whopping 50 to 60 times before uprooting her family from Sydney to Beverly Hills for a season, giving the Aussie trendsetter enough certifiable city cred for us to declare her an honorary Angeleno. Her brand’s growing buzz in the United States (plus the desire to spend less time away from her three little ones) sparked the move. CAMILLA AND MARC debuted at New York Fashion Week last year, and Karlie Kloss, Bella Hadid and Olivia Palermo are among her legions of A-list fans. L.A., however, has become Freeman-Topper’s muse as well as her second home. “Los Angeles has an incredible pace that’s always resonated with me,” she says. “There’s this amazing current of activity that inspires me here—it’s a springboard for my brand.” Here, she shares the top spots she frequents in the city.
BEST BOUTIQUE “A multibrand boutique I especially adore is H.Lorenzo. I’ve found some amazing menswear pieces there on occasion.”
ART SMARTS “The Broad in DTLA is my personal favorite art gallery. It was a special moment when my children saw Andy Warhol’s work there for the first time.”
SKIN SAVVY “I head to Violet Grey to stock up on beauty products, and I visit the WeHo salon of my close friend, facialist Melanie Grant, on a weekly basis. I’m grateful that my regime hasn’t stopped since my move to L.A.”
LUNCH PLANS“I’m a regular at Cecconi’s West Hollywood—it’s around the corner from my place and such a beautiful space. Plus, their handmade pasta is incredible!”
GET OUTSIDE “Venice Beach is such a great spot to relax, especially with the kids. We regularly rent bikes and ride down the promenade. We also spend a lot of time at Coldwater Canyon Park and Roxbury Memorial Park, both within walking distance of our home.”
