When retail pioneer Carl Louisville opened his fashion, art and design gallery Carl’s Atelier at Westfield Century City a year ago, he had no idea how quickly it would catch on. “I actually had something to say about culture, lifestyle and luxury,” says the New Orleans native, who recently opened a second location of his shop at The Village at Westfield Topanga. “My work is what I wear,” explains Louisville, who regularly dons bespoke pieces by designers carried in his stores, like Luca Grassia and Sydney-based Atelier Stefani. “I only work with brands that speak to my conversation about luxury or elevate it. I love beautiful fits and beautiful tailoring,” he explains. “When those are all present, you can mix and match to no end. Style is forever, not for the season.”
