Cause to Celebrate

| September 5, 2014 | Parties

The Party
After working with the California Wildlife Center to help save a baby seal beached in front of one of their Carbon Beach homes, Oracle founder Larry Ellison and his philanthropist girlfriend, Nikita Kahn, decided to take action. The couple invited some of their closest friends and members of the Hollywood and Malibu communities to Ellison’s restaurant, Nikita Malibu, for Appreciating the Wild, a fundraising event to support the nonprofit organization, which is located in the Santa Monica Mountains and dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating sick and injured animals.

The Scene
Guests such as Bradley Cooper, Suki Waterhouse, Kathryn Bigelow, Laird Hamilton, Gabrielle Reese, Haim Saban and Elizabeth Chambers gathered on a terrace to enjoy Champagne and learn about the cause before retreating downstairs for wine tastings in the restaurant’s extensive cellar, followed by an intimate lunch.

The Highlights
Throughout the afternoon, Ellison treated his supporters to world-class musical performances from the likes of David Foster, Charles Perry, Fairground Saints, Chris Botti and Caroline Campbell. And most importantly, the event raised $600,000. Now that’s music to our ears! –Photos by Infidea Studios
