Chanel fine jewelry returns to 1932 and the results are as modern today as they were then.

It’s been 90 years since Chanel debuted fine jewelry. Putting the “high” in high jewelry, its most recent collection also shoots for the stars.
“I wanted to return to the essence of 1932 and to harmonize the message around three symbols: the comet, the moon and the sun,” says Patrice Leguéreau, director of the Chanel Fine Jewelry Creation Studio. “Each heavenly body shines with its own light.”
This is not a simple dip into the archives. With 77 unique creations—13 being transformable—the wearer can match the pieces to their mood. The collection includes diamonds, both blue and yellow. Deep-blue sapphires, rubies in shades of scarlet, opals, spinners and tanzanite also are on hand to create every feeling of nature, from sunrise to sunset. Expect to see the comet, an undisputed icon of Chanel jewelry, on 34 pieces.
The moon, seen on only one piece in the original collection as a crescent shape, is soon to be an iconic symbol as it evolves into a full moon with 18 mysterious pieces. You can’t have the moon without the sun, and this motif is also explored in 24 pieces with its graphic rays on full display.
The collection is filled with rings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants each more extraordinary than the last. As Gabrielle Chanel herself once proclaimed, “I wanted to cover women with constellations. With stars. Stars of all sizes.” That statement is as clear today as it was in 1932. May we all continue to shoot for the stars… and wear them.
