THE PARTY Dolores and Carmen Chaplin paid homage to their grandfather, Sir Charles Chaplin, with an elegant dinner party in honor of the 40th anniversary of his Academy Honorary Award at Chateau Marmont. THE PLAYERS Laurence Fishburne, Bitsie Tulloch, Rose McGowan, Ed Lauter, Laura Harring, Joel Murray, Julia Ormond, Kate Bosworth, Lawrence Bender, Oliver Stone, Willem Dafoe, Penelope Ann Miller THE HIGHLIGHTS The evening kicked off with a speech by Weinstein, who confessed that his 2012 Oscar-winning film for best picture was inspired by Chaplin’s work. Oscar rivalries were put aside as The Descendants director Alexander Payne also shared some words on Chaplin’s significant contributions to cinema and revealed that by the time he was 14 years old, he owned rare prints of 12 of Chaplin’s iconic shorts.
