Chasing a Cure

| July 2, 2013 | Parties

THE PARTY Multiple sclerosis survivor Nancy Davis hosted honorees Sharon and Jack Osbourne and a who’s who of industry luminaries to raise funds for the fight against MS at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. THE PLAYERS Kelly Osbourne, David Burtka, Neil Patrick Harris, Ray Romano, Courtney Galiano, Ziggy Marley, Kellie Pickler and Lisa Rinna THE HIGHLIGHTS “Watching Sharon and Jack receive the medal of hope was so inspiring,” says Davis of the mother-and-son duo whose openness about Jack’s personal battle with the disease continues to inspire. Donations and a spirited auction, featuring a new Aston Martin Centenary Edition DB9, helped raise the event’s $1.8 million. In exchange for their generosity, guests were treated to an intimate performance from chart-topper Taio Cruz and DJ Havana Brown before Sir Elton John brought the house down with an eight-song set of his best hits—all the while ribbing longtime pal Rod Stewart, who sat in the front row. Of the once-in-a-lifetime show, Davis gushed, “Every single person was standing on their feet and dancing.” Photography by Michael Buckner/Getty Images; Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images; Jason Merritt/Getty Images
