Children's Justice Campaign Fundraiser

| May 19, 2015 | Parties

More than 150 people united on Tuesday May 12th at the Beverly Hills home of Julia Sorkin to support actress Kelly Rutherford and raise funds for her non-profit, The Children's Justice Campaign (CJC). The non-profit was created to heighten awareness about the need to increase the constitutional rights of children in the justice system.

Just a few of the women who walked the red carpet in support of Kelly and the CJC included: Selma Blair, Marcia Cross, Kris Jenner, Melanie Griffith, Cheryl Tiegs, Frances Fisher and Marianne Wiliamson. While guests mingled and sipped Dom Perignon, they heard from attorney Lisa Bloom, CJC Co-Founder Patrice Lenowitz, Kelly's attorney Wendy Murphy, and Rutherford herself.

The Children's Justice Campaign seeks to educate the general public about the health and safety risks to children exposed to current family court practices, using statistics, scientific research, expert and victim testimony. The Children's Justice Campaign mission is to inspire Americans to take action, demanding transparency and accountability within our courts, and ultimately transforming standards of practice that will honor the needs of a child by making their physical and emotional well-being the top priority in divorce and custody litigation.
