Why travel across the pond for high tea when you can have the same lovely experience right in Los Angeles?
It’s time to start romanticizing your life and enjoy English teatime at the The Maybourne in Beverly Hills. Collaborating with its sister hotel from London, Claridge's, Maybourne delivers an exclusive teatime open to the public from April 23 to 30.
The Maybourne is overjoyed to welcome their sister hotel to help them with the endeavor, especially since Claridge's is renowned for serving some of the best afternoon tea in the world. Guests won’t be disappointed with this one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy traditional English teatime with a twist of Californian flavors and eccentricity unique to this electric city.
Afternoon tea starts at 2:00 p.m. daily and will be enjoyed on The Maybourne’s outdoor garden terrace. The scent of fragrant flowers tickles guests' noses and transforms their experience as they listen to beautiful melodies from the grand piano. The tea itself will be steeped to perfection and bursting with elegant flavors thanks to the expertise of Henrietta Lovell of Rare Tea Co., who handpicked the loose leaf blend.

Designed by renowned executive chef Kaleo Adams from Claridge's and executive chef Martyn Nail from The Maybourne, every recipe on the menu is delicious ,yet delicate— the perfect balance of English and Californian cuisines. The flavors from the tea sandwiches, scones, cakes and other teatime bites masterfully complement the unique blend of tea and the Laurent Perrier champagne served at the end.
“Through our redesigned guest rooms and suites and lively new dining destinations, we are delighted to continue building upon a contemporary yet inviting atmosphere with special experiences for our guests including our own signature interpretation of the celebrated English afternoon tea tradition in the very near future,” said general manager of The Maybourne Beverly Hills, Eugene Leonard.
