Indio’s beloved Coachella music festival is back with a killer lineup, creative art installations, collectible NFTs and can’t-miss events.
After a two-year absence, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (coachella.com) returns to Indio’s Empire Polo Club for two action-packed weekends, April 15 to 17 and April 22 to 24. Here’s a look at this year’s new developments and how to make the most of your time in the desert.
SEE The polo field will be brought to life by immersive artwork and creative design installations—both newly commissioned pieces and returning favorites. At this year’s event, live art exhibitions will come by way of Architensions, Cristopher Cichocki, Kiki van Eijk, Los Dos, Estudio Normal, Dana Stanescu, NEWSUBSTANCE, Robert Bose and Do LaB. At the last show, Do LaB designed the Warrior One stage, whose concept they’ll build upon with lighting elements that will line the back of the DJ booth. Another great thing to see: YouTube Originals and Coachella partnered to produce a feature-length documentary, Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert, chronicling the performances and behind-the-scenes stories that shaped the festival.
