Tasya van Ree
Contemporary artist Tasya van Ree drew a chic crowd to The Salon in Culver City for the opening of her exhibit, Theory of Daydreams. Guests including Michelle Branch, Cheyann Benedict and Loree Rodkin sipped cocktails while meandering between the light-strewn patio and open-air gallery space. With a portion of the evening’s proceeds going to War Child USA—an organization that brings medical aid and education to children affected by war—the event encouraged not only celebration, but awareness. “Taking away a country’s culture is a kind of weapon,” said van Ree. “Hopefully this show will incite awareness on both an individual and community level.” –Photos by Alex J.
