THE PARTY Families affected by premature births joined together with altruists and celebrities to laud the March of Dimes at its annual Celebration of Babies luncheon. Held at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel), the elegant affair bestowed Dr. Michele Hakakha with the Prematurity Champion Award and Universal Television President Bela Bajaria with the Inspiring Woman of the Year Award. Actress Jessica Alba took home top honors, accepting the coveted Grace Kelly Award for her work championing children through her lifestyle brand, The Honest Company. THE SCENE Following a Champagne cocktail reception, guests, including Rachel Zoe and Molly Sims, sat down to a delicious meal of crispy salmon and mushroom raviolini alongside a decadent goat cheese cheesecake. THE HIGHLIGHTS Besides raising a record-setting $1.2 million for the philanthropy, Alba’s inspiring speech captured partygoers’ attention. “When Franklin Delano Roosevelt started the March of Dimes, he encouraged ordinary people to give a little something,” she said. “It’s just a reminder that a small act can be a step toward a healthier and happier world.” –Photos by Alberto E.
