Crystal + Lucy Awards

| October 5, 2018 | Parties

Women in Film LA celebrated outstanding women in the entertainment industry with the Ignited-themed 2018 Crystal + Lucy Awards at The Beverly Hilton.

THE SCENE Honorees like Brie Larson and Alexandra Shipp struck a pose on the red carpet in chic Max Mara designs before heading inside the glitzy fete—presented by Max Mara, LancĂ´me and Lexus—which raised funds for Women in Film LA and celebrated the organization’s advocacy for gender parity. Guests posed for photos inside the Lexus floral photo booth before taking their seats inside the ballroom. THE PARTY During the ultimate girls’ night out, Channing Dungey, NOVA Wav, the women of Black Panther (in front of and behind the camera) and more were all honored. Oscar winner Frances McDormand was also on hand to present a “45 Years of Advocacy” segment and again called for action for the Inclusion Rider, showing off bumper stickers in support of the initiative while at the podium. THE HIGHLIGHTS Ellen Pompeo presented the Lucy Award to ABC Entertainment President Dungey, who told the crowd it was an “honor to showcase strong and independent women on television.” Dungey added, “We can’t be afraid to stand up, to speak up, to rise up. When we see things around us that counter our values and beliefs, our actions must match our words. It’s not always easy to do.” -Brandi Fowler
