THE PARTY Gourmands joined together in Downtown L.A. to indulge in a weekend filled with dishes from the most touted restaurants in the City of Angels like Faith & Flower, Patina and Cadet. In addition to the endless display of sweet and savory plates, notable vineyards Silver Oak and Justin poured their finest varietals to taste. THE SCENE Grand Avenue was transformed into a red carpet-covered foodie playground outlined with food trucks, tents and a VIP lounge from Lexus, all juxtaposed against the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall. THE HIGHLIGHTS With a line 30 people deep, Slapfish restaurant’s spiced Clobster roll, half crab and half lobster, proved to be the MVP. Following closely behind were the pork pies from chef Curtis Stone’s Maude, and corn and truffle agnolotti from Drago Centro. The sleeper hits, though, were the perfectly cooked angus steak with horseradish grits from STK Los Angeles and refreshing tomato gazpacho with dehydrated quinoa from Sqirl. Food for thought, indeed! –Photos by Stefanie Parkinson and Hector Sandoval
