Diamond Setting

| October 7, 2015 | Parties

THE EVENT To celebrate the Beverly Hilton’s 60th, VIPs were treated to a performance by Gavin DeGraw, synchronized swimming by the Aqualillies and beats by DJ Michelle Pesce. But nothing could outshine the gallery of dazzling diamonds curated by the fete’s co-host, jeweler Neil Lane. Perfectly suited to the occasion (60 years is, after all, the diamond anniversary), the collection also honored the hotel, which has hosted the Golden Globe Awards since 1961. And while the event “paid homage to the stunning Hollywood glamour that has been on display at this venue for the past 60 years,” said Lane, hotel owner Beny Alagem was quick to remind guests that it was also a toast to the future: “We look forward to the next 60 years, starting with the opening of Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills in 2017.” ‏THE SCENE Guests included celebs like Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Topher Grace and E!’s Ali Fedotowsky. Retro-themed food and libation stations outlined the Aqua Star Pool, which remains the largest in Beverly Hills. ‏THE HIGHLIGHTS Two words: Floating stage. Positioned in the center of the pool, DeGraw got the crowd dancing to new and old songs while the Aqualillies flexed their synchronized-swimming skills. Rounding out the evening was a Smashbox Studios makeup bar and an endless flow of Mo√ęt & Chandon. –Photos by Faye Sadou
