Everyone knows Justin Turner as the third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but this SoCal native’s love for Los Angeles goes further than just baseball. With baseball enthusiasts from all around traveling to L.A. to watch the MLB All-Star Game on July 19, Turner has some recommendations for his favorite spots to hit in the city.
If you’re not lucky enough to be in attendance to this iconic game at the Dodgers Stadium, tune in at 5.p.m. on Fox or livestream on fuboTV for an unforgettable night.
Read below what Turner has to say about his favorite places in all of Los Angeles.

There are definitely some go-to recommendations I make to teammates when they want to take their wives out, and at the top of that list is 71Above at the top of the U.S. Bank Building: 360-degree views of the city and if you can get that sunset reservation, you’re not going to see a better picture in all of Los Angeles.

If you’ve never been there, you’d probably miss it. It’s a little hidden—it almost feels like a speakeasy restaurant.

It literally has everything—produce, meat, salsas, spices, juices, coffee, little breakfast spots, bars. Anything that you could possibly need, you can go into The Farmer’s Market.

The best taco spot is super sneaky (but not that sneaky because you’re probably going to wait an hour to get in there): Guisado’s right outside of Dodgers’ Stadium on Sunset.

The best burger spot, and I’ll probably catch some crap for this, is In-N-Out. I’m an In-N-Out guy.

You can come on these sets and recognize the buildings. It’s just so wild that this is where they are shooting your favorite TV shows, your favorite movies, your favorite action scenes.

Before you get into the actual theme park, you have all the shopping and restaurants. There’s actually a Dodgers’ team store that I did a pop-up surprise visit to one time!

One of the coolest spots took me a while to get there. I drove by it so many times driving down the 405 freeway—The Getty Museum. You take the tram up and you walk through and you see all the art. It’s one of the coolest views of Los Angeles because it sits up on the hill and you can see down right over UCLA.

The Hollywood Bowl is one of the most iconic places you can go. It’s all outside. I’ve been to a lot of concerts there.

Obviously if you have social media, I’m sure you’ve heard about Runyon Canyon. If you want to see a celebrity, go to Runyon.

So many people active and out—biking, skateboarding, roller blading, running on the sand, surfing in the water. It’s cool to go down there and the vibes at the beach are different than the vibes in the city—a little more laid back and cool and calm.
929 Academy Rd 90012 / Website
Elysian Park is obviously the most special place to us because it’s where we play all of our games. It’s really cool on weekends to drive through the park to see all the families set up with barbecues and birthdays and tailgates. Sunday mornings all the lowrider old school cars line up. Just by driving through Elysian Park and going to our games, you get a lot of culture from the city.
