Coretta Scott King once said, "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." We surely know of the greatness of Los Angeles, which is why the present— whether the holidays, high summer or mid spring— is the right time to give back. See below for eight L.A. organizations to support.
No Us Without You L.A. is a non profit organization that strives to support undocumented immigrant families. It aims to help families of greater Los Angeles contributing to the hospitality industry who are in need of food relief assistance. Donations as little as $33 can feed a family of four for one week and all donations are entirely donated to families paid by grants and private donors.

Friends and Helpers helps survivors of abuse get back on their feet with the support of counseling, job training, financial planning and life skills training. Donors can help support by providing $10 toward a snack bag and $25 towards adopting a backpack. What's more, Friends and Helpers is hosting an event in Irvine on Dec. 3 for volunteers to stock christmas stockings and do a gift drop off. At the event, gift cards, monetary donations and physical gifts will also be accepted to help those in need.
