THE PARTY LACMA’s Costume Council fĂȘted Western Costume Company’s centennial with a panel of motion picture wardrobe designers who spilled industry secrets and models who donned unforgettable looks from films such as Cleopatra, Ben-Hur, Gone With the Wind, Chicago and The Artist. THE PLAYERS Carolyn Wagner, Jeremy Scott, Desiree Kohan, Daniel Mayer Selznick, Eddie Marks, Colleen Atwood, Arianne Phillips, Julie Weiss, Mary Zophres, Deborah Hopper, Elizabeth Matthews, Daniel Orlandi, Janie Bryant THE HIGHLIGHTS More than 600 impeccably dressed guests, including Oscar-winning design talent, paid homage to Western Costume Company’s trove of looks from every era. The oldest and largest American costume house inspired LACMA’s Costume Council to dress models in some of the most iconic ensembles to appear on-screen, including the gold dress and cape worn by Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra, Judy Garland’s Wiz-worthy shoes and Vivien Leigh’s green velvet dress. Frankly, my dear, everyone at this gala did give a damn about these star-making designs. Photos Courtesy of Alex J. Berliner
