Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) commemorated 70 years of providing exceptional service to young children, students and adults with special needs across Los Angeles with a gala celebration honoring longtime supporters Suzanne and Ric Kayne. An unprecedented level of support was raised for the organization, totaling nearly $1.9 million. “To see community leaders celebrating the potential of children and adults with special needs with this much enthusiasm is truly inspiring,” said ECF President & CEO, Dr. Scott Bowling, Psy.D. The Kaynes were honored for their exceptional philanthropy to ECF, including their significant role in building the Kayne Eras Center in Culver City, which merged with ECF in 2008. As a result of the merger, ECF became the only organization of its kind in California to provide a continuum of lifespan services to young children, students and adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Presenting sponsors included the Kaynes’ three daughters, Saree, Maggie and Jenni Kayne, who recognized their parents on stage at the event.
