| October 5, 2018 | Parties

Nick Mathers’ new rooftop restaurant Élephante opened with a splash.

THE PARTY Nick Mathers, the man behind L.A. go-tos Eveleigh, Goldie’s, Little Ruby and more invited a slew of stylish friends to Santa Monica to cheers the opening of his newest hot spot, Élephante. THE SCENE Executive chef Thomas Lim joined Mathers to welcome guests, including stylist and Amanu founder Anita Patrickson, hairstylist Riawna Capri, event producer Brent Bolthouse and Ireland Baldwin to the space, where custom cocktails and Italian wines flowed. THE HIGHLIGHTS A surprise performance by Matthew Handley of Yolanda Be Cool and Michael Di Francesco of Touch Sensitive wowed the crowd, but Mathers’ detailed restaurant design played a starring role. Constructed of limestone walls, a Tigerwood floor and filled with a curated selection of handmade items, the space was inspired by his extensive travels. - Laura Eckstein Jones
