Out with the old and in with the new. That's talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres' take on real estate. Less than two years after purchase, the star and her wife have listed a large Tudor-style manor in Beverly Hills for $53.5 million.
According to a report by Mansion Global, DeGeneres bought the estate for $42.5 million in May of 2019. The mansion was purchased from Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine. During his time in the home, he and his wife, model Behave Prinsloo, renovated a lot of the interior and updated the grounds. The singer reportedly spent about $8 million on the entire project.
From a neutral color scheme to a paneled library and a gourmet kitchen, this 10,000-square-foot regal Tudor emulates luxury living. Wrapped in ivy with a white exterior and blue roof, the home sets a perfect picture of classic elegance. Inside the home, whites and neutral hues give the living and kitchen spaces a subtle touch, leading the eyes to the large windows which create a clean and open atmosphere.
The ebony-colored wood of the study, meanwhile, is designed to be elegant and strong, yet warm at the same time. Even more majestic is the two-story foyer set with reclaimed wood floors.
The home boasts a variety of lifestyle amenities, fit for its litany of star owners. No doubt the happy couples enjoyed the foyer's stone fireplace, the in-home bar, chef’s kitchen, media room, professional screening room, gym and guest house. The outdoor property comes to life with lush gardens, a resort-style pool, outdoor entertaining areas, a tennis court and patios.
DeGeneres and her wife, model Portia de Rossi, have been quite busy in the real estate market, having recently purchased and sold a handful of California properties in the last seven months. They let go of a Montecito compound in November for about $33 million and bought another mansion for $49 million last September.
