Celebrating 25 years of Epione Beverly Hills—where he’s sculpted an endless list of famous faces—Dr. Simon Ourian shares his beauty philosophy and what to expect next.

In Los Angeles, cosmetic dermatology is as ubiquitous as getting highlights. Whether we like it or not, it’s unavoidable, and, unfortunately, there’s a lot of bad work out there. Cheeks overblown with filler, sky-high brows and too-frozen expressions can be seen everywhere from Rodeo Drive to the Malibu Country Mart.

But, Dr. Simon Ourian, who’s celebrating 25 years of his Epione Beverly Hills clinic, is in a league of his own. “My training was in classical sculpting, and that helps me a lot with understanding facial anatomy and aesthetics,” says Ourian. “That, combined with my natural curiosity and the development of some of the newer aesthetic procedures that were coming to market about 15 years ago, set me on the right path to where I am today.”

Ourian’s philosophy—one that can be seen played out on the faces of Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Jasmine Tookes, Chrissy Teigen and many more—is focused on natural beauty. “I want to make people look as good as possible in a natural way—nothing too exaggerated, but not so subtle that you can’t see a difference.”

Along with his innovative procedures, including his patented Coolaser treatment and facial sculpting techniques, Ourian is known for his MDO skincare line, a luxe collection of results-driven products that clients and other skincare enthusiasts can bring home. Consisting of a core cleanser, exfoliant and serum, some of the brand’s newer products include sheet masks; the Facial Sculpting Wand and the Multi-Benefit Skin Tint. “It has a lot of pharmaceutical-grade products like vitamin A, C and others that are good for your skin,” he says of the easy-to-apply Skin Tint. “As long as you’re wearing this, your skin gets everything it needs, and it removes the concern about having to take your makeup off every night. A little goes a long way.”

As for what’s next, Ourian has plans to continue developing new treatments and products, and will invest in—and help develop—the latest cutting edge technology. But one thing will remain consistent: He’ll always focus on making each client look his or her best, and not like anyone else. “Nobody can make you look like somebody else,” says Ourian, who shies away from clients asking him to replicate the famous faces he’s worked on over the years. “But everyone can be the best, most beautiful version of themselves.
