The Party Philanthropist Barbara Davis gathered famous friends for a glitzy diabetes fundraiser at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Jay Leno emceed the evening, which included silent and live auctions, a three-course dinner and an awards ceremony, during which George Clooney accepted the Brass Ring Award for his humanitarian work in Darfur. The Players Jay Leno, Jane Fonda, Sidney Poitier, Shirley MacLaine, Quincy Jones, Clive Davis, Smokey Robinson, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley The Highlights Kiss frontman Gene Simmons won a trip to Paris Fashion Week during the live auction while shoe designer (and daughter of Barbara) Dana Davis fielded compliments from actress Jennie Garth, who wore a pair of her heels to the event. Meanwhile, Neil Diamond scored bonus points with the crowd by coaxing a reluctant Clooney into joining him in a round of song. The actor downed a glass of red wine then jumped into the chorus of “Sweet Caroline.” With $2.5 million raised for the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, everyone left a winner. Bravo!
