Fancy Footwork

| September 25, 2013 | Parties National

THE PARTY Actresses Krysten Ritter, Madisen Beaty and Haley Bennett gleefully donned the designer’s molto sexy, Italian-made heels at the unveiling of his AW13 collection, which was co-hosted by French actress and Rousseau muse Roxane Mesquida. THE SCENE Staged on a rooftop at the Petit Ermitage in WeHo, guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres and a cooling Peroni bar. A screening of the new collection, which was shot by Mary Rozzi at the Belle Époque-themed Hollywood bar Pour Vous, provided just the right mix of fashion and romance, and a glimpse of what’s to come: colorblock pumps and printed velvet booties. The gracious designer, playfully dressed in polka dots and leopard print, had many to thank, including his beloved cockatoo, Malibu. THE HIGHLIGHTS Visual treats were plenty but none so great as the Juda Beaded shoe. Set atop a pedestal, the limited-edition design is a special collaboration between Rousseau and artist Emily J. Snyder. Embellished with hand-applied coral, freshwater pearls and vintage Czech glass beads (some 7,000 pieces, all told), each pair takes more than 80 hours to complete, well warranting the price tag of $6,495.
