GIGI C creative director and CEO Gigi Caruso dives into the season with fresh swimwear styles and a new VIP showroom.
“Growing up, I spent a lot of time at the beach and took part in many watersports, from wakeboarding to swimming,” says lifelong Angeleno Gigi Caruso. “I found myself in search of functional swimwear that could keep up with my active lifestyle without sacrificing my personal style. Early on, I started pulling out my Victoria’s Secret swimsuits, cutting them up, and piecing them together to make them more full-coverage or more supportive.” That experimenting became the foundation for GIGI C’s first collection, which debuted in 2017. “GIGIC focuses on timeless elegance and architectural silhouettes, sprinkled with on-trend spins through pops of color, unique cuts, and playing with asymmetrical design,” Caruso shares. “Also, you will always be able to tell if a piece is GIGI C from our delicate laser cutouts!” Th is season brings fresh arrivals for the brand, including the Summer 2023 collection, which features a new ripple fabric. “This Italian fabric has a wavy texture that has amazing stretch and even better retention. We’ve taken the time to perfect the fit of these styles and also offered mesh cover-ups that match perfectly to our swimwear.” The brand has also brought back its bestselling snakeskin jacquard in a new color—yellow—and plans to open the first GIGIC office space and VIP showroom at Th e Grove. Caruso plans to launch new categories, eventually growing GIGI C into a full-on lifestyle brand.
