Grammy Night, Aced!

| March 19, 2014 | Parties

Inside Ace Hotel’s newly beautified United Artists Theater—with a marquee pronouncing “Music Is Universal”—Universal Music Group toasted the Grammy wins of their artists Lorde, Kacey Musgraves, Imagine Dragons and more. On hand to help celebrate the triumphant weekend for CEO Lucian Grainge, who received the Icon Award at Clive Davis’ bash, were a medley of musical giants, including Marc Anthony, Smokey Robinson and Natasha Bedingfield. Over hors d’oeuvres courtesy of L.A. Chapter and tunes by DJ Reflex, guests enjoyed the landmark theater’s two bedazzled levels. Katy Perry and John Mayer convened at one table, and Calvin Harris and Rita Ora occupied another. The Voice’s Michelle Chamuel danced with Mary Lambert, who performed “Same Love” at the Grammys with Madonna, Ryan Lewis and Macklemore, demonstrating that music isn’t the only thing that’s universal. –‌Photos by Alexandra Wyman/Invision
