Grandmaster Recorders has the cure for your Sunday Scaries.
Starting Feb. 20, the Vinyl District’s newest standout is kicking off the Aperitivo Party series. The weekly rotating event runs 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Sunday.
Putting a fun twist on happy hour each week, Grandmaster Recorders will have a new featured artist’s menu.
“With so much happening within the hospitality world it was important to find a way in which we could connect with our friends and industry family over a few snacks and drinks – just like we used to,” says culinary director Monty Koludrovic. “It is important we as a community continue to celebrate each other—our friendships and successes, highs & lows. GMr’S new Aperitivo Party Series will be a celebration of the collective creativity of the hospo industry at large.”
First up, the legendary recording studio turned dining destination welcomes Mei Lin. You’ll want to settle under Studio 71’s to embrace the dim sum extravaganza. The following weekend will offer a first-look at Underdog ATX, the highly-anticipated new wine bar by Momofuku vet Richard Haregreave.

Come March, embrace the fading of winter with Zen Ong’s Balinese Sunsets. This Aperitivo Party presents a taste of the Inda chef’s famed Indonesian snacks, including crab curry and oyster sambal. If Italian-American cuisine is your thing, be sure to come by on March 13 for a slice of Joe Beddia and Eric Warheim’s tomato pie by way of Philly’s Pizzeria Beddia.
Grandmaster Recorder’s Aperitivo Parties will continue through the year. Future culinary and beverage collaboration lineups are set to include Brandon Kida of Hinoki & Bird; Justin Pichetrungsi of Anajak Thai; Ari Kolender of Founder Oyster; Tom Halpin of Layerzzz in Moscow; Roc Cockerill of Bennelong in Sydney; Luke “The Dingo” Trembath; celebrations with O. Tama Carey and her new book, Lanka Food and a Full Moon Party with Katy Peetz, Randy Moon and friends and Beau Clugston.
The fun, however, doesn’ have to end on Sundays. The Hollywood hotspot also has its eyes on invigorating the beginning of the week with Magnum Mondays. Across the bar, in-house sommelier Devon D’Arcangelo embraces the rock ‘n’ roll spirit with help from the likes of Ally Devellis (Broken Shaker); Curt Carillo; Sara Bei; Milos Zica; Gates Otsuji (Edition Hotels) and Jeremy Ortiz (Controlled Substances) for the forthcoming aperitivo hour of special cocktail and wine moments.
The Aperitivo Party series welcomes guests on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis.
