Back in April, Green Day treated Angelenos to a super intimate show at the Echoplex before jetting off on a world tour that has brought the California-native trio to the world’s biggest stages. Now they’re back in town this month with a full stadium show as part of The Saviors Tour. Read on for everything you need to know about attending.
Green Day will perform at Sofi Stadium on Sept. 14. With doors opening at 4 p.m., music will start at 5:30 p.m. with The Linda Lindas and Racid. Then, The Smashing Pumpkins will hit the stage before the main event of the evening.
Sofi Stadium has a clear bag policy. You can bring in clear bags as big as 12” x 6” x 12” or, if you keep it especially light, you can carry a non-clear clutch if it’s 4” x 6” or smaller.
If you prefer to park on-site, buy a parking pass as soon as possible because pricing increases on show day. Stadium lots open as early as 2:30 p.m. If you commute via a rideshare service like Alto or Uber, be sure to go to the designated drop-off and pick-up locations. For arrival, head to the northbound curb lane on Kareem Court. Then, pick-up after the show is at Kareem Court and Manchester Boulevard. Finally, if you take public transit, take the Metro C line to the Hawthorne/Lennox station.
Sofi Stadium has plenty of great food and beverage options if you prefer to fuel up for the concert once at the stadium. Concession stands can be found all throughout the venue and each one is inspired by different areas of Los Angeles. Depending on which stand you head to, you can feast on the likes of birria nachos and chicken tenders. However, if you have extra time before the concert, consider stopping at a nearby restaurant like Sunday Gravy, Two Hommes or Dulan’s. See our full list of nearby recommended restaurants.
If you get to your seats by 5:30 p.m., you’re in store for hours of rock music. After The Linda Lindas kicks off the show, Rancid will hit the stage around 6 p.m., followed by The Smashing Pumpkins at about 6:50 p.m. Then, when you hear The Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop” sound off at approximately 8:20 p.m., be sure to get to your seat right away: Green Day is about to start their performance. The Saviors Tour is a celebration of the band’s legacy, so you’ll get to hear career-defining albums Dookie and American Idiot in full alongside new songs like “The American Dream is Killing Me.” The set runs for nearly 40 songs, making the show a can’t-miss experience for their fans.
Sofi Stadium is located at 1001 S. Stadium Dr 90301.
