Henry Jacques is one of the world’s most exclusive fragrance houses, but it’s very likely you may not know about it. Launched in Paris in the 1970s by Henry Cremona, the brand—now run by Cremona’s daughter, Anne- Lise Cremona—has 10 boutiques worldwide, with only one in the U.S., right here in Beverly Hills.
Located on a hidden corner of Via Rodeo, the store is modeled after a Parisian apartment, with a mix of classic and modern design elements. “The whole idea behind the boutique is that you can really spend time for yourself to explore, because perfume is so personal, an idea that has been kind of lost over time,” says Beverly Hills boutique director Darcy Jura. “So that’s why even our location is a little bit hidden. It’s not meant for people to come and grab and go, but instead, for you to sit and really think about what works for you.”
While the brand once had more than 3,000 creations in its library, it now has a more edited selection. The Beverly Hills boutique carries the Les Classiques Collection, in addition to six L.A. exclusives. And for those who want something truly unique, customized fragrances are available for a cost—precisely $92,340.
Part of what sets the brand apart is the exquisite quality of the ingredients. “We actually have over 1,200 natural components that we work with,” says Jura. “Any of our essences can have anywhere from 80 to 200 components.”

To make the most of the experience, book an appointment. This will allow time to work with experts on a one-on-one basis, helping to discover your just-right scent. After describing likes and dislikes, clients can test a number of fragrances until finding the perfect match. The process truly is a journey, in the most beautiful, transportative setting. Fragrances are available in handmade crystal flacons—with glass applicators or in a mist form. And the new Clic-Clac collection houses solid, travel-ready fragrances in cases made with precious materials like titanium, carbon and gold.

“Henry Jacques is an absolutely unique perfume house,” says Cremona. “Haute parfumerie in the fragrance world is the equivalent of haute couture in the fashion world. It is crafting bespoke scents, perfectly fitted to clients, using immense savoir-faire and the finest ingredients. Every aspect of our creative process is in tune with ancestral know-how and why we work so hard to preserve our approach, without compromise, never accepting anything less than true excellence.” parfumshenryjacques.com
