What better way to celebrate Christmas than relishing in the absurdity and familiarity of the muppets? Screening at the Academy Museum’s Ted Mann Theater, The Muppets take on Charles Dickens’ holiday classic for a delightful take on the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Starting Dec. 4, the Heritage Square Museum and Street Food Cinema are teaming up to put on holiday classics like Elf, Home Alone, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause and When Harry Met Sally. Through Dec. 26, catch your chance at a night of an outdoor movie paired with Victorian home tours, piano sing-alongs, food trucks, holidays treats, a twinkling night tunnel and the Tinsel Tavern Barn. What’s more, a portion of ticket sales go to benefit the preservation of Los Angeles history.

New Beverly Cinema isn’t just showing Christmas time tales, but the theater is certainly putting on quite a few. Round up with the kids to go see Christmas with Bugs Bunny on Dec. 4 or opt for the Arnold Schwarzengger-starring Jingle All the Way on Dec. 5. Other movies throughout the month include Elf, Black Christmas and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Rooftop Cinema Club’s drive-in has multiple showings a day, meaning you can squeeze a whole lot of your Christmas favorites in just a month. Holiday programming kicks off Dec.4 with Elf and runs throughout December to feature The Holiday, Love, Actually and The Night Before.

Be surrounded by the twinkling lights of downtown Los Angeles when you decide to cozy up for an outdoor movie. Rooftop Cinema Club’s downtown holiday lineup begins Dec. 2 with Elf, which also takes the finale spot on Dec. 19. Their list of movies mirrors that of the Santa Monica location, including Die Hard on Dec. 18.

After grabbing a drink at E.P. & L.P., extend your evening plans with a movie at the Melrose Rooftop Theatre. Their slate of holiday movies starts on Dec. 5 with Home Alone and runs to Dec. 24 with a showing of Elf. The schedule also includes Four Christmases, Home Alone 2 and Lethal Weapon.

What better way to get into the festive spirit than watching a movie in the heart of Tinseltown? Starting Dec. 3, head to the rooftop of The Montablán for a showing of The Holiday, Friday After Next, White Christmas or The Nightmare Before Christmas.
