In addition to the ornate decor across the property and landscaping, Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows has aglow the 150-year-old 80-foot-high Morten Bay Fig Tree. Also, the hotel is hosting a seasonal Santa Suite complete with Santa-inspired décor, in-room candy bar and s’mores kit, holiday movie classics and a Sazerac box offering, which includes a hands-on experience with an absinthe perfume bottle, rye whiskey, bitters & cognac and festive appetizers to pair.

The L.A. Live hotel is all about the sweets this holiday. Its new award-winning chocolatier, executive pastry chef Francois Behuet, has crafted a one-of-a-kind, life-size chocolate installment. In a nod to our city’s name, the Valrhona chocolate creation resembles angel wings and is surrounded by smaller handcrafted chocolate sculptures. Visit the lobby to witness the spectacular piece yourself. In addition, have a drink while you're there. Holiday cocktails will be available until Dec. 31, such as The Gingerbread Man, In a Pear Tree and Milk Punch & Cookies.

Also, the hotel lobby will feature live holiday music in the evening on Thursdays (“All that Jazz”), Fridays (“Acoustic Evenings”) and Saturdays (holiday DJ). Come Hanukkah, the lobby will have treats and a menorah lighting from Dec. 18 to 26 at nightfall and Blue Streak restaurant will have a special menu (which also has holiday cocktails, s’mores and seasonal dishes by the fire pit). On Dec. 18, guests are invited to the Hanukkah Lighting and Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Then, on Dec. 20, the Biologique Recherche Holiday Ready Event will prepare guests with a Skin Instant Lab Consultation, a curated sample bag and champagne. Finally, from Dec. 19 to 24, the hotel will countdown to Christmas with a serenade by carolers singing Christmas classics.

Also, on Dec. 10 the hotel makes for the perfect viewing spot for the annual King Harbor Holiday Boat Parade. While taking in the parade, enjoy a cozy meal and cocktails. During weekends in December, the icy decor of the Waldorf Astoria is elevated by its annual holiday afternoon tea experience in the lobby lounge. Inspired by The LA Ballet performance of The Nutcracker, the afternoon tea menu features seasonal delights; a choice of TeaLeaves tea or champagne and live melodies by a classical harpist. Seatings take place Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. until Dec. 18.
From afternoon tea to elevated decorations, the Los Angeles hospitality industry keeps the city’s holiday spirit alive all December long.
