It was very important for us to launch with a luxury point of view,” explains Patrick Herning, CEO of 11 Honoré—a new luxury plus-size e-retailer—which he recently co-founded with Kathryn Retzer, the company’s creative director. “We wanted to meet a need in the marketplace that did not already exist for our customer and provide her with a multidesigner platform where she can find what she has always wanted and have it the very next day,” he says.
That translates to high-end runway pieces from brands like Brandon Maxwell, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier and more that are exclusively available on the website in sizes 10 to 20. “We are committed to offering trends straight from the runway,” says Retzer. “Whether it be elegant lace for evening by Monique Lhuillier or Baja East’s edgy suiting, we are ensuring that our customers have access to the best fashion available each season.”
In addition to gorgeous apparel, the 11 Honoré co-founders are looking to create a lifestyle platform that spans far beyond shopping. “We are building a community through our site and want to make it more than a shopping destination,” says Retzer. “11 Honoré is a place where she can find profiles and curated content that speak to her life in a way that’s both thoughtful and inclusive. And, of course, we want to provide her with all of the designers in the world.”
