CALAMIGOS GUEST RANCH AND BEACH CLUB
Calamigos’ extensive reach in the Malibu area made the ability to help the impacted community challenging but vital. The brand opened its Beach Club for immediate relief to first responders and those affected by the wildfires, handing out food and beverages while offering a safe space to reset. At the Guest Ranch, the kid’s club was open to all students and children impacted by school closures seven days a week. From engaging activities to S.T.E.M. sessions, the club is available for pre-K to high school curriculum through Keystone School.

The boutique hotel brand welcomed the community with open arms, from their West Hollywood outpost to Palihotel San Diego. As early as Jan. 14, the hotel offered complimentary three-night stays to first responders and those displaced by the wildfires at seven Southern California properties, followed by complimentary two-night stays for those affected by the Eaton Fire in select properties. To continue their efforts, Palisociety offered a discounted rate for nights at the Palihotel San Diego and is extending complimentary stays when they can. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint, so we are doing bit by bit, day by day and anticipate ongoing initiatives to give back to our communities as we outline needs and priorities for our displaced friends, neighbors and colleagues in the coming weeks and months,” says Kirsten Leigh Pratt, Principal Hotels & Brands, Palisociety. Beyond lodging accommodations, the brand’s pet program, Pawlisociety, made donations to animal welfare organizations, select on-site restaurants offered free meals, and partner brands such as Bellino Fine Linens, Antipodes Water and Cloud Paper gave out essential goods to evacuees and first responders.

This luxe urban retreat is stepping up to the plate to help displaced Angelenos through the end of the year. After the wildfires struck, L’Ermitage Beverly Hills introduced its “Together In Recovery” program, providing discounted lodging and amenities to those who lost their residences during the county-wide fires. The offer also included waived pet fees and reduced-rate laundry services, food and parking. To make the hotel feel a bit more like home, connecting rooms, private workspaces and children’s toys were available upon request. Yet L’Ermitage’s reach didn’t stop there. The brand made a generous donation to World Central Kitchen, a food-centric organization playing a pivotal role in feeding first responders and evacuees during the fires, and is extending its hospitality to the Los Angeles Firefighter Union, making a world of difference across Los Angeles.
From wellness services to discounted stays, Malibu Beach Inn made sure the community was taken care of; PHOTO COURTESY OF BRAND
Even with its proximity to the Palisades Fire, Malibu Beach Inn rushed to help those who had been displaced. The beachfront property offered discounted short-term and long-term stays to evacuees as well as discounted dining at Carbon Beach Club for the entire community to support the hotel’s recovery. To ensure the safety of all its guests, Malibu Beach Inn implemented Levoit Air Purifiers in each of the 47 rooms, professionally cleaned all linens, discarded on-site food that was compromised and brought in equipment such as the HEPA-AIRE H2KM Negative Air Machine and Hydroxyl Generators to make the air as clean as possible. The effects of the L.A. wildfires are not only devastating in the moment but can linger for months or even years after. That said, Malibu Beach Inn offered guests membership-level access to CURE Wellness Center’s facilities, including a sauna and a cold plunge, alongside access to mental health and telehealth resources to help those impacted recharge accordingly.

Koreatown’s The LINE LA served as a residential sanctuary for those displaced by the wildfires from the Palisades to Altadena. While typically a hot spot for late nights in the city, the hotel took on a new purpose to support the community. Evacuees were offered three complimentary nights with personalized concierge services—giving a sense of peace to many in flux. For those who lost cherished images in the fire, the hotel will host a special family portrait day in April with photographer Thalía Gochez, giving back one image at a time.
While the L.A. wildfires have subsided, the community’s resources are needed now more than ever. Known for their valiant efforts when disaster strikes, The Peninsula Hotels have stepped in to lend a helping hand. Until March 31, 2025, the Peninsula brand will donate five dollars to a nonprofit, government-funded organization for every night booked at the Beverly Hills, New York or Chicago properties. Other opportunities to donate will be available on-site. “During this difficult time, our priority is supporting the affected community members,” said Gareth Roberts, executive director and chief operating officer of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels. “Together, I hope The Peninsula and its guests throughout the U.S. can make a difference in the recovery efforts.”

As one of Los Angeles’ only true resorts, Rancho Palos Verdes’ Terranea was able to offer relief in more ways than one. Through the extended stay program, those displaced by the wildfires were given a sense of home with the option to stay in a one to three-bedroom casita at a generous rate— equipped with a gourmet kitchen, laundry room and dedicated parking—along with discounted dining and access to fitness and wellness classes. To help guests of all ages re-center, the resort catered additional amenities, from complimentary cookies and gelato to nightly family-friendly movie nights, hopefully bringing a bit of joy back into the lives of those affected.
