Ian's Friend Foundation, a leading force in the battle against childhood brain cancer, proudly announces the launch of its Los Angeles chapter. The foundation's journey takes a significant leap forward as it extends its reach to the City of Angels. The celebration of this milestone will culminate in the unveiling of the highly anticipated annual gala, set to take place on October 14th at the exquisite 1 Hotel in West Hollywood.
The decision to establish the LA chapter is a testament to Ian's Friend Foundation's commitment to ensuring that no child faces the challenges of brain cancer alone. This expansion reflects the foundation's mission to spread hope and support to every corner of the nation.
Since its inception, the organization has raised more than $30 million dollars that has directly enhanced research towards a cure. The organization has worked alongside world-renowned U.S. institutions, including Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, NYU, Cornell, Johns Hopkins University, Emory University, Duke University, and the University of Pittsburgh to fund 39 ground-breaking research projects. Ian’s Friends Foundation serves as a beacon of hope and trusted resource for families, healthcare providers, and researchers at leading hospitals and universities around the country.
The gala, scheduled for October 14th, promises an evening of glamour, entertainment, and heartfelt philanthropy. The iconic 1 Hotel in West Hollywood will provide a stunning backdrop for the event, which will feature inspiring conversations led by brain cancer survivor, Grace Wethor, founders of Ian’s Friends Foundation, Phil and Cheryl Yagoda and a very special award to radio personality, Ellen K for her efforts to raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer awareness. Attendees can expect an unforgettable night, with every moment dedicated to raising vital funds for childhood brain cancer research and support programs.
In conjunction with the raising funds and awareness around this vital cause, this evening will be celebrating the founding of the Los Angeles chapter of Ian’s Friends Foundation. The nationwide expansion of the organization is led by Los Angeles natives Sydney and Joey Meller following their daughter Charley’s brain tumor diagnosis at the age of 10.
Ian’s Friends Foundation invites Los Angeles residents to join their commitment to find a cure for the thousands of children battling pediatric brain tumors, hear the stories of the families who have been affected by pediatric brain tumors and fight alongside the foundation Until There’s A Cure! Last year’s Evening of Inspiration Gala was Ian’s Friends Foundation’s largest fundraising event through auctions and immense support from guests, raising over $1.75M.
Ian's Friend Foundation invites the Los Angeles community to join the movement against childhood brain cancer. Whether attending the gala, contributing as a volunteer, or making a donation, every action contributes to the foundation's vision of a world where children can thrive without the shadow of this devastating illness.
