Angeleno Chriselle Lim (@chrisellelim) mastered the art of the pivot after being forced to pump the brakes her most recent undertaking: BümoWork, a modern work space with a childcare twist.
Stylist and digital influencer Chriselle Lim manages to do it all—and look good while doing it—and Bümo, the most recent venture for the mom of two young girls, is undoubtedly her most impactful project yet. Created with friend-turned-business partner Joan Nguyen Tran (@joan.nguyen.tran), BümoWork provides a work space and education-based childcare under one roof. “We wanted to give parents the option to be co-located with their children, while also continuing to grow their careers,” shares Lim. With only two months to go before opening BümoWork’s first location at Westfield Century City, COVID-19 forced operations to halt. But the L.A.-based mothers didn’t skip a beat, quickly switching gears to accommodate the impending situation. “During the pandemic, we experienced a huge pain point of home schooling and we knew we weren’t the only people who felt this,” says Lim. Kicking their entrepreneurial spirits into overdrive, the two founders decided to roll out the Bümo curriculum they spent years creating and offer it as an online resource for parents. “We soon realized this wasn’t just a COVID-19-induced issue and that, in reality, there are little to no options for early childhood education to blend the world of unplugged activities and virtual education,” she shares. “My hope is to give children across the world equal access to quality early childhood education.” Even with BümoWork’s virtual rollout in full swing and the physical location’s new opening date coming in 2021, the supermom found time to share her five must-have items for her young tots.
