The prime of summer was invigorated with fashion celebrations, outdoor movies and celebratory concerts. Below, take a closer look at what went on around town in July.
With fireworks galore, Cinespia rang in Independence Day with showings of Charlie’s Angels and Shrek 2 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which drew in celebrity attendees like Lili Reinhart, Kaitlyn Dever, Este Haim, Danielle Haim, Alana Haim, Raegan Revord and more. Meanwhile, the July 13 screening of Midsommar welcomed Joey King, Ava Phillippe and Scott Michael Foster.
On tour with its Mare 2024 Collection, Giorgio Armani popped up at Little Beach House Malibu and commemorated the occasion with a starry soirée. The sunset cocktail event embraced the collection’s embodiment of chic Italian coastal living with a live DJ, a gorgeous Pacific backdrop and a space splashed in turquoise, light gold and warm wood. The evening welcomed Henry Golding, Max Minghella, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Lili Reinhart, Cami Mendes, Chase Stokes, Scott Speedman, Ariana Greenblatt, Cameron Brink, Edgar Ramirez, Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, Chris Briney, Michael Evans Behling, Liv Lo Golding, Lauren Wasser and Katharine Foster.
On July 9, veteran producer Debbie Durkin hosted the Ecoluxe Pre-ESPYS Sports Lounge at a private residence in Beverly Hills in support of Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue Ranch. The day-long event welcomed professional athletes, Olympians and celebrities to celebrate the ESPYS, including Marcellus Wiley, Willie Gault, Al Joyner, Crystal Manning, Sofia Milos, Ian Ziering, Shaun Toub, Petri Hawkins Byrd, Jarrod Bunch, Sundiata Gaines, Greg Louganis, Princess Martha Louise from Norway and others. Attendees were treated to giftings, beverages, bites and experiences by Bangin’ Buns, Natasha Moor Cosmetics, Lolit’as Guiltless Margaritas, Fayah Athletics, Zeno Verse Wellness and more.
On July 18, STōK Cold Brew Coffee hosted the 2024 Wrex Coast Tour kick-off with a red carpet cocktail event that welcomed co-chairman Rob McElhenney and the Wrexham AFC men’s and women’s soccer teams. Over the summer, the teams went on to play in six tour matches.
Betsey Johnson brought the party to DragCon 2024 with queens like Plastique Tiara, Raja and Gottmik at her bubblegum pink booth. Over the weekend, here was also a live taping of Bring Back My Girls hosted by Ts Madison and an after-party performance from global queens, which included La Grande Dame and Pandora Nox.
On the evening of July 23, Dress My Tour hosts Kathy Hilton, Toni Braxton and Dr. Holly Carter celebrated the premiere of the Hulu series with a party at a private Los Angeles residence where guests mingled and enjoyed light bites and Saratoga spring water. The guest list included Bozoma Saint John, Cedric the Entertainer, DeVon Franklin, Eric Bellinger, James DuBose, La'Myia Good, MC Lyte, Michael Jai White and Gillian White and Wayne Chaney Jr. and show contestants Julissa Peralta, Rey Ortiz and Veejay Floresca.
Aje and Revolve commemorated its partnership with an afternoon tea at The Proper Hotel Santa Monicaon July 25. Dressed in the collaborative collection, Aje founder Adrian Norris was joined by friends of Revolve and Aje and other Los Angeles elite. The guest list included Josephine Skriver, Sasha Pieterse, Emma Brooks, Amelie Anstett and Sophie Allegra Elkus, among others.
Tequila Don Julio held the final show of its A Summer of Mexicana concert series in Los Angeles on July 30. Hosted by comedian Guillermo Rodriguez, the show featured performances by DJ Que Madre, Sofi Saar and Chencho Corleone.
