June invigorated Los Angeles with Pride celebrations, summer kick-off parties and more. See what happened around town below.
WeHo Pride ushered in Pride Month with a bang. From May 31 to June 2, it threw the annual Outloud Music Festival with a star-studded lineup of talent that featured Kylie Minogue, Kesha, Keke Palmer and Adam Lambert, among others. The weekend had a number of surprises including Janelle Monáe bringing out Queen Latifah and Gabrielle Union; Kylie Minogue dueting with Orville Peck on their new song, “Midnight Ride” and Jessica Betts performing with wife Niecy Nash.
Cinespia was in full swing for the summer in June. On June 1, it welcomed Joey King, Zoe Lister-Jones, Jenna Raine and Victoria Baldsesarra for Legally Blonde, while the Dazed and Confused screening attracted Tyler Hoechlin, Katherine McNamara, Riele Downs, Brendan Morais. Then, on June 22, a showing of D.E.B.S. saw a special introduction from Sara Foster, Meagan Good and the film’s director Angela Robinson. The month was capped with Whatever Happened to Baby Jane on June 29, which drew in Jack Quaid, Alisha Wainwright, Amber Midthunder and more.
On June 5, Kathy Hilton and daughter Nicky Hilton Rothschild welcomed Kris Jenner, Alexandra von Fürstenberg, Paris Hilton, Christine Chiu, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Elisha Cuthbert, Faye Resnick, Irena Medavoy, Jessica Hart, Kelly Osbourne, Rachel Zoe, Stacey Bendet, Tina Chen Craig and more to her Beverly Hills home to celebrate the launch of Ruggable x The Hiltons collection. Featuring art deco-inspired prints and delicate linework, each rug in the collection is named after a significant place or past home for The Hiltons.
Night Market at The Bungalow Santa Monica kicked off its summer 2024 series on June 6. The weekly Thursday event made the evening special with appearances from Jason Momoa and Aaron Paul, who brought along their spirit brands, Meili Vodka and Dos Hombres Mezcal, respectively, to treat guests to cocktails. Attendees also got to take selfies with the stars, chill out to music and enjoy food from The Boiling Crab, The Lonely Oyster, Tacos 1986, House of Empeñadas, Urbn Pizza, Fig, Soko, The Bungalow’s Streaming Burger and Good Times Ice Cream.
Across town, June 6 also saw Jean Paul Gaultier celebrate the launch of an exclusive edition 2024 Pride bottle. The evening began with a carnival-themed party hosted by the House of Avalon at the Houdini Estate in Laurel Canyon with a performance by Gigi Goode and Symone and music by DJs Ty Sunderland and Succubus, which brought in guests like Kerri Colby, Adam Lambert, the Clermont twins, Zane Phillips, Rickey Thompson, Zack Lugo and Patrick Ta. Festivities later continued at Sunset at the West Hollywood Edition where guests danced beneath hundreds of disco balls and enjoyed Tequila Don Julio Blanco cocktails.
On June 13, Patrick Ta Beauty commemorated the launch of its latest summer highlighter collection, Major Glow Crème & Powder Light Reflecting Translucent Highlighter Duo. Celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta welcomed Lana Condor, Ariana Greenblatt, Heidi D’Amelio, Carmella Rose, Nazanin Mandi, Bella Poarch, Jasmine Sanders, Chantel Jeffries, Camilla Jackie Aina, Christine Chiu, Victoria Frost, James Charles, Katie Fang, Loren Gray, Sir John, Larray, Tay Lautner, Laura Lee, Manny “Manny MUA” Gutierrez, Shayla Mitchell, Melissa Molinaro, Desi Perkins, Patrick Starrr and more to the party.
In partnership with Olivia Muniak, Forte_Forte hosted a supper club on June 20 at its Melrose Place boutique to toast the release of its summer 2024 collection. Guests—which included Monica Ahanonu, Sarah Weichel, Alessandra Codinha, Mia Rigden, Christina Pérez, Valentina Castellani Quinn, Babs Burchfield, Julie van Daele, Shannon Beale, Stephanie Roach, CeCe Vu, Daniella Midenge, Julie Carmen, Hanna Isaksson and Raffaella Valentini— were treated to Casa Dragones cocktails, wine and Olivia-favorite Italian dishes crafted by Muniak Studio.
Kathy Hilton teamed up with British WellTech longevity brand LYMA to host a longevity day at her home. Over the course of the afternoon, guests received tarot card and crystal readings, manicure and beauty touch-ups, Niagen IVs and facials with the LYMA Laser and listened to LYMA founder Lucy Goff speak about her innovations. Notable attendees included Kelly Osbourne, Kyle Richards, Lauren King, Alexa Dell, Faye Resnick, Bijou Phillips and Bernadette Leonard.
On June 26, Cupshe held its Birthday Pool House event in Beverly Hills in honor of the swimwear and apparel brand’s ninth birthday. The pool day showcased Cupshe’s latest summer offerings and attracted JoJo Fletcher, Kelly Osbourne, Heidi D’Amelio, Daisy Kent, Amanza Smith, Melanie Wilking, Iskra Lawrence and Ally Lewber.
Artist Lucky Daye held a release party for his new album, Algorithm, on June 27 at Sunset at Edition. The late-night party had an exclusive first listen of the 14-track LP and was soundtracked to sounds by Soulection’s Joe Kay. Invited guests included Ari Lennox, Tia Mowry, Lena Waithe, Jessie Reyez, BJ The Chicago Kid, Broderick Hunter, Arnell Armon, Shaun Ross and other friends and collaborators of RCA Records.
On June 28, Mercedes-Benz USA and Alicia Key held the first event of a new multi-city culinary series, The Table, at Verse LA. The guest lineup included Swiss Beatz, Andra Day, Victoria Justice, Ayoni and more. The evening began with an immersive Dolby Atmos music experience in Mercedes-Benz cars and a tour of Larrabee Studios, which was then followed by a culinary journey of Angeleno cuisine set in a Dolby Atmos-powered dining space.
Cognac brand D’ussé debuted its new brunch series during BET Weekend with celebrity stylist Kollin Carter. Taking place June 28 at the Grandmaster Recorders rooftop, Law Roach, Wayman & Micah, Niecy Nash, actor and rapper Joey Badass, rapper IDK and more enjoyed creative brunch dishes and cocktails like the Spicy Sidecar and the Kollin D’usse Lemonade Spritz made with peach, basil and prosecco.
