Honestly, what don’t Italians do well when it comes to design? The latest lust-have from the country is Coralla, a new dinnerware line from Rome and Milan-based ceramicist Coralla Maiuri that’s exclusive in SoCal to TableArt (Beverly Grove). Made of artfully glazed bone china or porcelain, each customizable item is handpainted by the artist. TableArt owner Walter Lowry met Maiuri in Paris at Maison&Objet and was immediately smitten. “Her dinnerware is colorful, fresh and original, and so different from anything else on the market,” he enthuses. We’re personally coveting the Caravaggio plates (above), each dolloped with colorful splatters akin to an artist’s palette and gilded with hand-drawn gold brushstrokes. From $195-$595
