Mark your calendars: the ultimate culinary experience is headed for Los Angeles later this month.
On July 27, food takes over NeueHouse Hollywood beginning at 6 p.m. with the James Beard Foundation Taste America culinary series. Commemorating the chefs and independent restaurants at the heart of the L.A., the event will feature Natalia Pereira from Woodspoon; Christy Vega from Casa Vega (2022 America’s Classics Award winner); Margarita Manzke from République (2022 James Beard Award nominee for Outstanding Pastry Chef); Michael and Kwini Reed from Poppy & Rose; Katianna and John Hong from Yangban; Vanda and Cathy Asapahu from Ayara Thai and Nick Montgomery and Akira Akuto from Konbi. The lineup will also include visiting chef Shenarri Freeman of New York’s Cadence.
“The James Beard Foundation is thrilled to bring together such an exceptional group of chefs in the Los Angeles culinary community for our tenth iteration of Taste America. We’re looking forward to celebrating these talented chefs and highlighting their unique stories, culinary creativity, and work in their communities,” said Siobhan Flaherty Haber, vice president of events at the James Beard Foundation.

In addition to the nine food and beverage stations, the evening will have activations from sponsors like Capital One, 1800 Tequila, Kerrygold Usa, Choose Chicago, Mountain Valley Spring Water, Cali Distillery and Blinking Owl Distillery.
What’s more, proceeds from Taste America will go toward benefitting the featured chefs and the James Beard Foundation’s national programming, which supports racial equity, sustainability and women’s leadership in the culinary industry.
For 30 years, the James Beard Foundation has supported the people behind the United States food culture by advocating for new standards in the restaurant industry, amplifying new voices and highlighting the centrality of food in our every-day lives. Within that time, Taste America has championed the vibrance of local food culture in cities across the country for ten years.
Ahead of the Los Angeles stop, the traveling event will make stops in Orlando and Washington, D.C. and then follow with Denver and Boston.
Tickets are now available and are $175-$225. NeueHouse Hollywood is located at 6121 Sunset Blvd 90028.
